[Whiteboard Challenge] TikTok - Improving First Post Experience for New Creators
0
Description
Background
On TikTok, many users begin as viewers but eventually try creating their own video. However, data shows that a significant portion of new creators stop uploading after their first video, especially if the performance (views, likes, comments) is low.
This high drop-off after the first post reduces content diversity and discourages creative growth.
Goal
Design a mobile experience to support first-time creators after they publish their first TikTok video.
Encourage them to create again by helping them understand their performance, feel motivated, or take further actions.
Design Challenge Mission (What you need to do)
Design a single screen or flow that is shown after a user posts their first-ever TikTok.
Your goal is to help new creators stay motivated and consider posting again.
You may highlight social proof, suggest tips, or recommend content ideas — be creative, but keep it user-centered.
